Egyptian producer Tamer Mortada surprised audiences by revealing new details about the ending of the series “Ward Ala Ful wa Yasmin” (Roses, Jasmine, and Jasmine), starring Saba Mubarak and Ahmed Abdel Wahab. The final episode sparked widespread debate among viewers, with some finding the ending logical and others deeming it harsh on the protagonist, who suffered from cancer.

Mortada explained that the creators of “Ward Ala Ful wa Yasmin” disagreed significantly about the ending, emphasizing that finalizing it was one of the most difficult decisions the team faced during the writing and production stages.

He added that the audience’s division, between those who supported the ending and those who opposed it, is not a negative sign. On the contrary, he sees it as evidence of the series’ success in making viewers connect with the characters and empathize with their fates, which he considers the greatest achievement of any artistic work.

Tamer wrote on his Instagram page, “The truth is, I really loved Elham and Tarek, and I kept suggesting the episode more than once, not for work or to be polite, but simply because I wanted to see them again.”

He added, “The truth is, the star Saba Mubarak entertained and impressed us, and Ahmed Abdel Wahab was the best choice for the role. It was a great success, and I think this is a step towards leading roles. I was sure deep down that many people would love them as much as I did. We, as creators, disagreed a lot on the ending, and perhaps that was one of the difficult decisions because any ending to a story like this will have people who believe in it and people who wished for a different ending, and that in itself is a beautiful thing, because it means that people connected with the characters and lived with them.”

He continued, “I learned so much on ‘Ward Ala Ful wa Yasmin,’ and I was honored to work with great masters and artists. I extend my deepest thanks, appreciation, and love to them. I would also like to thank Shahid, the partner and home that embraced the work. Thank you.” Aya and Maha, the success of any project is the fruit of faith, cooperation, and the hard work of many people.

He continued, “And of course, I can’t conclude without expressing my deepest gratitude and loyalty to the late artist Mohamed Marzban… May God have mercy on Mohamed Marzban, grant him paradise, and place his art, experience, and love on the scale of his good deeds. Thank you to everyone who participated in this journey, and thank you to the audience for the immense love they bestowed upon ‘Ward Ala Ful Wa Yasmin’… God willing, there will be another post for the entire team… Special thanks to the great director, Amr Samir Atef, Wael Hamdy, and my brother Mustafa El-Awady.”
