Young Syrian artist Al-Shami revealed his mixed feelings about starting his journey as a judge on the talent show “The Voice Kids,” emphasizing that this step represents a pivotal moment and an exceptional challenge in his artistic career, as it’s his first time taking on the role of a coach.
The youngest coach in the show’s history: “Feeling comes first.” As the youngest member of the judging panel (24 years old), Al-Shami explained that he faced some initial nervousness, but his desire to support the young talents was the biggest motivation to overcome this feeling. Al-Shami said, “Dealing with children requires a unique human approach; the task isn’t limited to evaluating vocal quality alone, but extends to include psychological support and emotional engagement, which is no less important than the technical aspect.”
This season, Al-Shami joins stars Rami Sabry and Dalia Mubarak to present a youthful and diverse musical vision for the voices of children aged 7 to 14.
A string of successes: From “Miss Universe” to the judging panel
Al-Shami’s joining the program comes after his phenomenal success in the summer of 2025, when his duet with star Tamer Hosny, titled “Miss Universe,” topped the charts. The song, which Al-Shami co-wrote, composed, and arranged, presented an innovative blend of the Egyptian “dabke” and “maqsum” rhythms, further cementing his status as a versatile artist with a modern musical vision.
