On Wednesday evening, August 19th, the Al-Mahka Theatre will host a special musical evening as part of the 34th Citadel International Festival for Music and Singing. The evening will feature a blend of music and song, with performances by Sherif Mounir and his band “Nostalgia,” and the renowned singer Hisham Abbas.
This performance is part of the diverse program presented by the Cairo Opera House in collaboration with the Egyptian Tourism Authority. The program aims to offer audiences a variety of artistic experiences, including reviving classic works that resonate with listeners and audiences.
Sherif Mounir will meet the Citadel Festival audience for the first time as a drummer with his band “Nostalgia” at 8:00 PM. They will perform a selection of famous Arabic and Western musical compositions, presented in new arrangements that preserve the spirit and original identity of the original works.
The Citadel Festival will also feature Sherif Mounir as a drummer with his band “Nostalgia.” The concert program features a selection of the most famous film scores from Egyptian cinema, including “A Groom from a Security Agency,” “Sleepless Nights,” “Repentance,” “I Dream with You,” “Oh, How Wonderful is My Love and Yours,” “The Millionaires,” “Irmalados,” “I Loved You in the Summer,” “I’m Sorry,” “Swat,” and “Sway,” in addition to other works.
Meanwhile, Hisham Abbas will perform his concert at 10:00 PM, featuring a selection of his most prominent songs and television series theme songs that have garnered widespread popularity throughout his career.
During the evening, Hisham Abbas will perform a number of his famous songs, including “Halal Aleik,” “Nari Nareen,” “Hala,” “Habitha,” “Ta’ala,” “Ya Sahranin El Leil,” and “Yetraba Fi Ezzou,” as well as several other hits.
The 34th edition of the Cairo Citadel International Music and Singing Festival continues until August 24th, featuring a diverse program of concerts and musical experiences aimed at making the arts accessible to a wide range of audiences.
This year’s festival is held under the patronage of Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture, and Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities. It is organized by the Cairo Opera House, headed by Dr. Reda El-Wakil, and managed by Eng. Yasser Shaalan, Head of the Artistic House for Music, Opera, and Ballet.
