Canadian rapper Drake surprised his fans by releasing three new albums simultaneously: “Iceman,” “Habibti,” and “Maid of Honor,” a move that reflects his continued strategy of releasing multiple musical works at once.
In a press release published by foreign media outlets, Drake explained that the albums contain 43 new songs, revealing many personal aspects of his life, more than two years after his well-known feud with American rapper Kendrick Lamar.
In the song “Make Them Cry,” Drake revealed his father Dennis Graham’s struggle with cancer, saying, “My dad has cancer right now, and we’re fighting the disease.”
The song also addresses his perspective on his feud with Kendrick Lamar, which involved an exchange of attacks between the two, including Lamar’s song “Not Like Us,” which achieved widespread critical and commercial success and won five Grammy Awards in 2015, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year, and which included a direct attack on Drake.
Dennis Graham celebrated his son Drake’s album releases by posting a photo of them together on Instagram, captioning it: “Snowman and the cute guy, doing what they always do. Don’t get the wrong idea.”
This isn’t the first time Drake has released multiple albums simultaneously. He’s known for releasing several tracks at once, most notably his double album “Scorpion,” released in 2018.
