The outlines of Apple’s upcoming major update, iOS 27, are beginning to emerge, with recent software leaks revealing a suite of AI-powered features designed to make the iPhone smarter in handling everyday tasks.

According to renowned leaker Nicholas Alvarez, the new system will offer features that will change how we interact with the camera, browser, and digital wallet. Among the most prominent are:

A Revolution in Visual Intelligence
The iPhone’s visual intelligence engine will receive two significant upgrades:

Nutrition Analysis: Users will be able to scan nutrition labels on food products and instantly see their nutritional details. This feature is expected to be integrated with the Apple Health app, posing a direct challenge to apps like MyFitnessPal.

Smart Contact Management: The camera will be able to recognize phone numbers, names, and addresses from photos or business cards and add them directly to the Contacts app without the need for handwriting.

Smart Safari Organization
Apple’s browser will receive an AI-powered approach to tab organization. Safari will automatically understand the content of open tabs within any tab group and label them accordingly. For example, if you have several tabs about football open, the browser will automatically label the group “Sports.”

Physical Card Conversion in Apple Wallet
After much anticipation, Apple will finally catch up with Google in the area of card digitization. iOS 27 will allow users to scan physical cards (such as gym memberships or concert tickets) and convert them into digital copies stored within the Apple Wallet app.

Interface Customization and Chatbot Integration
Other reports (including those from Mark Gurman) indicate that the update will include:

Control over the levels of the “Glass Effect” in the user interface.

The ability to integrate third-party chatbots (such as ChatGPT or Gemini) directly with Siri.

Apple is scheduled to officially unveil iOS 27 at WWDC 2026, which begins on June 8th, with the final version expected to be released to the public in September alongside the launch of the iPhone 18 series.
