WhatsApp has revealed a new feature for Android users that will soon allow them to choose to have messages automatically disappear after being read.
This move comes as WhatsApp, currently owned by Meta, seeks to enhance privacy and security within the app, especially given the increasing interest in ephemeral chats and sensitive messages that users don’t want to leave a trace for long. This feature gives users greater control over how long their messages remain visible, providing a more flexible and private experience when communicating with friends or colleagues.
The new feature will make it easier for users to maintain the privacy of their conversations and control the duration of message visibility. According to WABetaInfo, a website specializing in WhatsApp updates, this feature will be available as an option for individual chats or for all chats.
