The film “The Tagamoa Killer,” starring Ahmed El-Fishawy, grossed 4,386,000 Egyptian pounds in just two days after its theatrical release.
This comes after the film was reinstated in cinemas following its initial withdrawal by the censorship board just hours after its release during the Eid al-Fitr film season. The production company was surprised by the ban, which occurred only four hours after the film’s release.
The censorship board issued a statement explaining the reasons for the initial withdrawal, indicating that after addressing the concerns, removing the objectionable scenes, and raising the age rating to 18+, the film was cleared for screening again.
Inspired by true events, the film tells the story of a killer named Karim who lives alone. He develops a relationship with a woman, which leads to a series of murders of several women. The film sheds light on psychological crises, including fear and obsession.
The film “The Tagamoa Killer” features a constellation of stars, including Sabreen, Cynthia Khalifa, Intisar, Mariam El Gendy, Jessica Hossam El Din, Aya Selim, Nour Mahmoud, and Faten Saeed. It is written and directed by Mohamed Salah El Azab and produced by Ahmed El Sobky.
