Actor Hesham Maged expressed his delight at his film “Barshama” topping the box office charts during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
On his official Facebook page, Maged shared the film’s poster along with its daily earnings figures, noting that Sunday’s revenue alone exceeded 23 million Egyptian pounds with over 183,000 tickets sold. He commented, “Thank God so much! Barshama achieves the highest daily box office revenue in Egypt.”

The film, a comedy rated 12+, takes place on the day of an Arabic language exam at a high school exam center for home-study students. The fates of a group of characters intertwine within the exam hall amidst chaos and widespread cheating, as well as the various attempts by parents to help their children cheat.
“Barshama” stars Hesham Maged, Reham Abdel Ghafour, Mustafa Gharib, Hatem Salah, Bassem Samra, Arfa Abdel Rasoul, Faten Saeed, Kamal Abu Raya, Fadwa Abed, and Michel Milad. It is written by Khaled and Sherine Diab and Ahmed El Zoghbi, and directed by Khaled Diab.
