Superstar Mohamed Emam celebrated the huge success and record-breaking numbers achieved by his new film, “Saqr wa Kanaria” (Falcon and Canary), since its release in cinemas this summer.
Emam expressed his immense joy at topping the box office in a post shared with his fans and followers on his official social media accounts. He wrote, “Thank God… 6 million Egyptian pounds in revenue on the third day for ‘Saqr wa Kanaria’ in Egypt,” amidst widespread interaction and congratulations from his colleagues in the film industry and the public, who praised the film.
The film began its fierce competition for summer box office revenue last Wednesday (June 24th), facing stiff competition from several other films currently showing in cinemas, including: “7 Dogs,” “Asad” (Lion), “Idma” (Isma), “El-Karash” (The Crush), “El-Kalam Ala Eh” (What’s the Talk About?), and “El-Qesas” (The Stories).
“Saqr wa Kanaria” is a social comedy filled with suspense. The story revolves around Shaheen, nicknamed “Saqr” (Falcon), who strives to change the course of his life and escape his past to build a stable family. Circumstances lead him to Bilal, a famous crime novelist known as “Kanaria,” and fate brings them together in an unexpected adventure to confront a dangerous gang searching for Saqr.
The series is written by Ayman Wattar and directed by Hussein El-Manbawy. It features a unique blend of comedy and drama, starring Mohamed Imam, Chico, Yosra El-Lozy, Khaled El-Sawy, Yara El-Sokkary, and Entesar, with special guest appearances by several stars, most notably Mahmoud Abdel-Moghny, Nesreen Amin, and Diab.
