urki Al-Sheikh has put an end to the controversy circulating on social media regarding his alleged mediation to resolve the dispute between actresses Yasmine Abdel Aziz and Mai Omar, categorically denying all reports on the matter.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Al-Sheikh clarified that he has no details or knowledge of the issue, emphasizing that he refrains from interfering in personal matters or issues related to the relationships between artists. He urged everyone to exercise accuracy and responsibility before publishing and sharing such rumors.
This decisive clarification came after a wave of news reports claiming that the head of the General Entertainment Authority had intervened to mend the rift between the two, coinciding with a recent gesture by actress Mai Omar, who publicly congratulated her colleague Yasmine Abdel Aziz and actor Ahmed El Sakka on the upcoming release of their new film, “Take Care of Yourself.”
Mai expressed her full support and sincere wishes for the film’s success on her Instagram account, writing: “Congratulations to my dear brother and great star Ahmed El Sakka, and the great star Yasmine Abdel Aziz, whose films we all love. God willing, the film will be a huge hit, and I’m the first one excited to watch it.” This move was interpreted by followers as a sign of the end of the tension between the two.
The roots of the sensitivity and indirect exchange between them lie in the competition of the Ramadan drama season. Yasmine Abdel Aziz sparked widespread reaction on her Instagram story when she posted a list of the most-watched shows on the Shahid platform in Egypt, commenting sarcastically: “These series are a huge success, and they’ve put in a tremendous effort… and these are the top 4 series on Shahid Egypt: number 1 is Yasmine Abdel Aziz, and number 4 is Mai Omar.”
This did not go unnoticed, as director Mohamed Sami, Mai Omar’s husband, quickly responded to her and refuted the figures, commenting: “Finally, after Mona Lisa finished airing in two days, where were you from the beginning of Ramadan, my dear?” This sparked a silent crisis, which Advisor Turki Al-Sheikh resolved today, confirming that no steps have been taken to bring the viewpoints closer.
