With a simple step that takes only a few seconds, you can activate the App Tracking Transparency feature that Apple has integrated into iPhones. This feature puts a definitive end to apps collecting your data, daily habits, and location to sell to advertisers.
This feature, which Apple launched as a “fundamental human right,” prevents apps from accessing your unique advertising identifier (IDFA). This measure has caused a seismic shift in the digital advertising market, with reports indicating that major platforms like Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube, and X have lost nearly $10 billion due to users refusing to allow tracking.
Blocking Tracking for New Apps (Automatically): To prevent any app you download in the future from requesting to track or read your data, open Settings, then select Privacy & Security, then tap Tracking, and disable the “Allow Apps to Request to Track” option.
Revoke permissions for existing apps
If you have granted your pre-installed apps tracking permission and want to revoke it, go to Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Tracking. A list of apps will appear; turn off the automatic switch next to any app you want to prevent from tracking you.
