Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues its box office success, breaking records in a short time since its release, having surpassed $700 million in North American box office earnings.
The film, a Sony/Marvel co-production starring Tom Holland as Spider-Man, has grossed approximately $704.5 million in North America, while its worldwide total has reached $1.8 billion after just two weeks in theaters.
The film’s success hasn’t stopped at the American market, as it has also earned $1.108 billion internationally, slightly surpassing its predecessor, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which grossed $1.106 billion.
With these figures, the film has secured the title of highest-grossing film of the year so far, and has entered the list of the top 10 highest-grossing films of all time, both globally and internationally.
These results open the door to more ambitious projections, with estimates suggesting the film could become the first to surpass the billion-dollar mark at the US box office, while other predictions point to a potential $3 billion worldwide if current audience demand continues.
As for the top spot on the list of highest-grossing films globally, it remains Avatar with a total nearing $2.9 billion, followed by Avengers: Endgame, which has earned approximately $2.7 billion, including revenue from reruns of both films.
