Capcom announced today the release of a major update for the highly anticipated horror game Resident Evil Requiem. This update adds the much-anticipated “Screenshot Mode,” along with a host of technical improvements and enhanced character expressions, across PC and console platforms.
Screenshot Mode: Professional Details for Fans of “Terrifying Shots”
After much anticipation, players can now capture their favorite moments in “Requiem” through a professional interface accessible from the pause menu. The new mode offers complete control over:
Lens and Lighting: Adjust depth of field (blur), focal length, brightness, and contrast.
Characters: Change body poses, facial expressions, and eye direction.
Artistic Effects: Add filters, frames, stickers, and control lens distortion.
Improved Dramatic Performance and Technical Fixes
The update isn’t limited to aesthetics; it also includes improvements to character facial expressions in cutscenes to more accurately reflect emotions. The update also included:
General fixes: Addressed a bug that prevented player progress under certain conditions.
PC version: Fixed visual issues that occurred with some GPU drivers and previously caused the game to crash.
What’s next? Hints about Ada Wong and the Mercenaries mode
While players enjoy the new update, all eyes are on May, when a minigame is expected to be released. Fans speculate it will be a new version of the popular Mercenaries mode.
The biggest surprise on the horizon, however, is the upcoming story expansion. Despite Capcom’s secrecy, rumors suggest a special appearance by Ada Wong, Leon Kennedy’s nemesis and friend.
Game director Koshi Nakanishi commented on the expansion, saying, “In this story, we’ll delve deeper into the world of Requiem. We’re working hard on it now, and it will take some time, so we ask for your patience and look forward to your continued support.”
