Reports have revealed that Canadian superstar Celine Dion is set to return to the spotlight after a six-year hiatus.
Celine sparked excitement among her fans by posting photos of herself in Paris at different stages of her life on her social media accounts, revealing her presence there and commenting, “I don’t know how to tell you.” This was interpreted by some as a hint that she is preparing to surprise her fans with a return to performing live.
Press reports indicate that Celine Dion is expected to perform a series of concerts in Paris starting this fall at the La Défense Arena, which was recently acquired by Live Nation, the concert promoter company that has previously hosted Taylor Swift, the Rolling Stones, and Kendrick Lamar.
According to the newspaper La Presse, Celine Dion will perform two concerts per week during September and October at the 40,000-seat venue.
Celine Dion and her team have yet to comment on the recent news regarding her return to full live concerts. Since 2020, she has only performed short set pieces at the Paris Olympics and in Riyadh, after canceling her tour years ago due to illness.
Paris is a key stop in Celine Dion’s career. The city is one of the most prominent European markets where her songs have achieved widespread popularity, and her name is associated with numerous major concerts, in addition to appearances at important music events and festivals.
Celine’s last concert was in March 2020, as part of a world tour that was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic and later canceled due to her illness.
The global star had been out of the public eye since being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2022. This rare neurological disorder, which affects one in a million people, causes muscle stiffness and affects the vocal cords, leading to the cancellation of several concert tours.
