The renowned artist, nicknamed “The Harp of Arabic Song,” Najat Al Saghira, categorically denied the authenticity of a photo recently circulating on social media and some news websites, which its promoters claimed represented her latest appearance.
Digital Fabrication and Chasing a Trend
In statements broadcast on the “Good Morning Egypt” program, the celebrated artist clarified in a phone call with writer Ahmed Al-Muslimani, head of the National Media Authority, that the circulated photo was “fake” and bore no resemblance to reality.
The program revealed that the fabricated image was created using artificial intelligence techniques, warning against the lack of verification that accompanied its widespread dissemination. The program expressed its regret that some people were misled by false information and the falsification of images of a prominent artistic figure, solely for the sake of “creating a trend” and achieving high viewership at the expense of the truth and the artist’s legacy.
The truth: The latest official appearance
Egyptian television clarified that the last real and documented appearance of the artist Najat Al Saghira was in November of last year, during her official visit to the headquarters of the National Media Authority and the Opera House of the New Administrative Capital, and these pictures are completely different from the fake version currently circulating.
