Actress Fedra opened up to journalist Yomna Badrawi on the program “Between the Lines” on TEN TV, revealing secrets and intriguing details about her artistic career, her humanitarian stances, and her personal life, which she described as difficult at certain points.
Confessions about Marriage, Divorce, and Not Having Children
With remarkable candor, Fedra described all her marriages as “mistakes,” emphasizing that she clung to them despite her family’s disapproval at the time. She explained that she didn’t shed a single tear when she separated from any of her three husbands because she was convinced the decision was right. She also justified her conscious decision not to have children by saying she “isn’t good at relationships,” indicating that her weakness lies only with children, animals, and her family.
Behind the Scenes: Male Characters and a Dispute with Ahmed Zaki
Fedra revealed a surprise about her role as “Dr. Fedra” in the series “Midterm,” explaining that the role was originally written for a man, but she accepted it as a favor to director Mariam El Bagoury. She also mentioned her guest appearance in “Magical Eye”, expressing her admiration for the talent of artist Omar Essam, saying:
“I love working with Omar Essam.. The combination was great, he is hardworking and talented, and God has given him acceptance and people love him.”
She also revealed a past disagreement with the late artist Ahmed Zaki during their work together, and mentioned her refusal of an offer to participate in a prank show with Ramez Galal.
Controversial Humanitarian and Religious Stances
Fedra responded to criticism of her wearing fur, emphasizing that she completely rejects real fur for humanitarian reasons related to animal rights, describing its slaughter for fashion as a “sin.” On the religious front, she revealed a close, insightful relationship with Dr. Ali Gomaa, whom she consults on matters of Islamic jurisprudence and stories of the prophets, such as the story of Adam and Eve.
Phobias and Personal Pain
The interview was not without its humorous and poignant moments; she confessed to suffering from a phobia of cockroaches and insects, and denied being arrogant, asserting that her relationship with the mirror is “purely professional.” She concluded her remarks with deep emotion about her mother, describing their relationship as unique despite their disagreements, and expressing her shock at her mother’s sudden passing after being diagnosed with cancer.
