Young actor Omar Sharif expressed his immense joy at joining the cast of the series “Qalb Shams” (Heart of the Sun), alongside star Youssra and director Mohamed Sami.
During his appearance on the program “Asrar Al-Nujoum” (Secrets of the Stars) with journalist Inji Ali, Sharif explained that he is currently filming his scenes for the series. He noted that his character will be a surprise for the audience, possessing dimensions different from anything he has done before.
He emphasized that the project represents a significant step in his artistic career and anticipates it will resonate widely upon its release, given the nature of the role and the surprises it holds.
Regarding his upcoming projects, he revealed his participation in filming a new movie in China. He explained that he has Chinese roots on his father’s side and is fluent in Chinese, which facilitated his participation in this unique artistic experience.
He added that he made sure to learn Chinese cooking in preparation for the role, highlighting the significant role his family plays in supporting and encouraging him to pursue diverse and artistically valuable projects.
He also spoke about his collaboration with actor Essam Omar on the series “Magical Eye,” emphasizing that he considers him like a brother within the artistic community. He praised Omar’s constant advice during filming, describing him as a unique individual with a promising future in acting.
Regarding his role in the series, he explained that he portrays a character named “Hassan,” who suffers from a psychological disorder characterized by compulsive kleptomania. He clarified that the character experiences difficult human situations, noting that one of the most impactful scenes for him was the scene of his mother’s death within the storyline.
Omar Sharif: My role in “Heart of the Sun” will be a surprise for the audience. He concluded by mentioning that he performed some challenging scenes involving physical contact, including one with Essam Omar. He emphasized that the addition of sound effects enhanced the realism of the scene, adding that the audience’s reactions were overwhelmingly positive. He also stated that he always strives to improve himself with each new experience he undertakes.
