Actress Abeer Sabry confirmed that she announced her separation months after the divorce, citing her lack of psychological readiness and her need for treatment for panic attacks.
During her appearance on the program “Mena Wefina” with journalist Heba Haidari, she added that she went through a very difficult period after suffering a severe psychological crisis following the separation.
Regarding the period after the divorce, she said, “My psychological state was very difficult. I couldn’t sleep at all, and I suffered from panic attacks, for which I am still receiving treatment. Looking at myself in the mirror was one of the hardest moments; I didn’t recognize myself anymore, and I kept asking myself, ‘Who are you?’ It took months before I was able to comfort myself and tell myself, ‘Don’t be sad… I’m okay.'”
She continued, “I was running away from confronting myself because I had so many unanswered questions. The divorce was a major turning point in my life, one I wasn’t prepared for, and during that time, I tried to recover after feeling defeated. My panic attacks were severe; I even went to the emergency room three times a week. All I found was prayer to God, my true support. Loss, whether through death or separation, is one of the hardest experiences a person can go through, especially if it involves the person they lost or even places they were attached to.”
He pointed out that there are many things a woman might lack in a romantic relationship, most notably emotional emptiness, ambiguity, lack of time, and insufficient attention. These are issues many women share, along with trust and loyalty. Taking the other person for granted can lead some to treat them as a given, causing a decline in attention and effort to maintain the relationship.”
