In his unique style of engaging with his audience, actor Ahmed El-Awady launched a promotional campaign for his new film, “Samson and Delilah,” scheduled for release during the Eid al-Adha holiday, through an interactive competition on his official Facebook page.
El-Awady posed a question to his followers about the identity of the film’s leading lady, offering a cash prize of 2,000 Egyptian pounds to each of ten winners in this “mini-competition” that ran until the early hours of the morning. The question presented the audience with humorous choices: Mai Omar, Mai Omar, or Mona Lisa (the name of the TV series starring Mai Omar, which aired during Ramadan 2026).
The film belongs to the action-romance genre, wrapped in a compelling social drama. The biggest surprise is actress Mai Omar’s debut in an action role, where she portrays “Dalila,” a woman who uses her intelligence to ensnare and rob the wealthy.
The film revolves around a complex relationship that develops between “Dalila” and “Samson” (Ahmed El Awady), a skilled sniper. Their paths cross, leading to a series of chases and conflicts interwoven with romance, all within a large-scale production aimed at delivering a unique cinematic experience.
The film boasts a stellar cast alongside Al-Awadi and Mai Omar, including Essam Omar, Khaled El Sawy, Essam El Sakka, and Rital Abdel Aziz. Written by Mahmoud Hamdan, directed by Raouf El Sayed, and produced by Ahmed El Sobky, it is expected to be a major contender at the box office next season.
