Veteran media personality Hala Sarhan is preparing to break her absence and return to television, but this time with a collaborative decision from her audience. She has opened a poll for her followers to choose the program format they would like to see her in, with options ranging from modern digital platforms to classic styles.
“The Return” Poll: 3 Possible Paths
On her official Facebook page, Hala Sarhan addressed her followers with a warm message, expressing her appreciation for their messages urging her return, saying, “Okay, I’ll take your opinion!” The media personality, nicknamed “Abla Fahita of the Media,” presented three main options:
A “Social-Political” podcast: focusing on a deep understanding of current events.
An “Arts” podcast: reminiscing about the golden age and behind-the-scenes stories of celebrities.
A comprehensive talk show: returning her to her favorite territory of discussing all aspects of daily life.
Support for “Cleaning Up the Screen” and a Battle Against Abuses
In a related context concerning the development of the media landscape, Hala Sarhan praised the recent decision issued by the National Media Authority, headed by journalist Ahmed El-Moslemany, which prohibits hosting fortune tellers and astrologers on all platforms affiliated with the Authority.
Sarhan did not stop at praise; she raised the bar for professional demands on her “X” platform, calling for the necessity of addressing other phenomena that distort the field, most notably:
Preventing insults, slander, and ethical violations.
Combating digital manipulation: especially fabricated videos and images that aim to defame public figures.
Regulating the status of “influencers”: and demanding deterrent laws for those who exploit social media to spread rumors and obscenities in order to gain “trending” and make money.
