Actress Gihan El Shamashirgi is set to star in the film “Bahr” alongside actor Essam Omar, following their successful collaboration on the series “Batal El Alam” (World Champion), which aired before Ramadan 2026.
Filming is scheduled to begin in the coming days. The film is a social comedy written by Haitham Dabour and directed by Ahmed Alaa.
“Batal El Alam” was a hit, telling the story of an African boxing champion who becomes a professional bodyguard after losing the World Cup. His life takes a dramatic turn when he’s tasked with protecting Donia, the daughter of a cunning businessman who left behind a mysterious inheritance and dangerous debts to Mahrouk, a major player in the betting world.
Throughout the series, Salah and Donia embark on a series of thrilling chases to uncover the secret of the fortune, leading Salah to regain his strength and find a new path toward love and redemption.
