Actress Fatma Koshary passed away on Sunday evening after suffering several health crises in recent years.
Fatma El-Sayed Awad, known as “Fatma Koshary,” participated in numerous artistic works. Despite the small size of her roles, she managed to leave a distinct mark on every project she appeared in.
Fatma Awad became famous for her nickname, which refers to the koshary cart she owned with her husband.

She began her artistic career as a silent extra in the 1989 film “The Struggle of the Grandchildren,” followed by a role in the television series “Dahab Qashra” that same year. She then appeared as an extra in the film “The Execution Squad,” where she received her first paycheck of 10 Egyptian pounds.
She began appearing more frequently in films such as “The Best of Times,” “Women’s Prison,” “A Groom from a Security Agency,” and “My Aunt France.”
Her widespread fame, however, came through the Melody channels, where she presented a highly successful advertising campaign.
She appeared in minor roles in films such as “Bobos”, “Baltiya El Ayma”, “Ramadan Mabrouk Abu El Alamein”, “Rami El Etesamy”, “Heya Fawda”, “El Lemby 8 Giga”, “H Dabour”, “Mohamed Hassan”.
She participated in a number of dramas that left a significant mark, most notably “Dalaa Banat,” “Sharbat Loz,” “Al-Haroub,” “Hikayat Banat,” “Ayza Atgawez,” “Tamer wa Shawqia,” “Nelly wa Sherihan,” “Ahl Cairo,” “Ragel wa Sitt Sittat,” “Al-Princessa Beesa,” “Omar wa Diab,” “Al-Wad Sayed Al-Shahat,” and “Aisha Al-Dour.”
Her last appearance was in the series “Shahadat Mu’amalat Atfal” with the artist Mohamed Henedy, which aired during Ramadan 2025.
