Director Tarek El-Erian revealed his readiness to begin preparations for the third installment of the film “El-Selm Wel-Tho’ban” (The Ladder and the Snake), a new step to continue the success of the series that resonated widely with audiences.
During his appearance on the “Spotlight” program with journalist Sherine Suleiman, El-Erian added that the film “El-Selm Wel-Tho’ban… La’b Eyal” (The Ladder and the Snake… Child’s Play) faced some criticism due to its bold content, saying, “I was shocked by the reaction to the trailer for ‘El-Selm Wel-Tho’ban 2’.”
He explained that the work is inspired by personal and real-life experiences, noting that the third installment targets teenagers and blends comedy and romance, while striving to deliver a unique and distinctive cinematic experience.
Al-Arian emphasized his ongoing commitment to creating works with a distinctive character, explaining that his films rely on boldness and the use of modern techniques in cinematography and directing.
He pointed to the importance of publicity and promotion in the success of any film, affirming his dedication to producing high-quality films that are commensurate with their budgets and cater to the interests of various age groups.
In response to claims that he is a high-budget director, director Tarek Al-Arian revealed that the production of the first part of the film “The Ladder and the Snake” cost 1.4 million Egyptian pounds, and it was sold to Esaad Younis’s company, generating a substantial profit.
