Sony Music Middle East released Sherine Abdel Wahab’s latest single, “El Hodn Shouk” (The Embrace is Thorns), on its official YouTube channel, ending a long wait for her fans who eagerly anticipated her return to the music scene.
The song reunites Sherine Abdel Wahab with the “successful duo”: lyricist and composer Aziz El Shafei and music arranger Touma. El Shafei had begun teasing the song days earlier on Instagram, posting a video from inside the studio with Touma, captioning it as if Sherine were saying, “She missed you all so much too.”
Amr Adib Celebrates the Return
Meanwhile, journalist Amr Adib dedicated a segment of his program “El Hekaya” (The Story) on MBC Egypt on Friday evening to discussing Sherine’s return, emphasizing that her absence was palpable and that the music scene missed her voice.
During the episode, Adeeb said, “Shereen’s return has been long awaited, and I’m extremely happy to see her singing again and releasing works worthy of her talent.” He then addressed the artist directly, saying, “Keep up the good work, Shereen… we’re all waiting for the rest of the album’s songs.”
